The first-year students of the University Degree in Fine Arts have today inaugurated, together with the educational team and course delegates of CEIP Can Pastilla, within the framework of Peace Day, the murals they have painted to transform the walls of the school’s courtyard.
According to ADEMA teacher and artist Carolina Adán, “through a humanization project, the cold and desolate walls of the school have given way to a picturesque environment, full of color, life and meaning, reflecting the warmth and hope that art can convey.”
“The educational center, whose previous appearance evoked a rigid and distant atmosphere, has been completely transformed through the use of floral motifs and artistic design lines, where a blue color palette predominates, inviting tranquility and introspection,” said ADEMA teacher Carolina Adán. This change has humanized the spaces, creating a welcoming atmosphere that connects with the emotions and concerns of the students and reinforces the sense of belonging.
“The school now conveys a different image, a space for education, creativity and coexistence. We are grateful for the work carried out by the ADEMA students and, thanks to art, they have managed to transform and create a space that feels alive and human,” said the director of CP Can Pastilla, Ricardo Picó.
For Carolina Adán, “our students’ learning project has managed to take art beyond plastic expression, promoting the values of education, such as hospitality, respect, inclusion, honesty, solidarity, and above all, creating a more humane and integrated environment.”

The project has not only focused on focusing and transferring the knowledge of Drawing Fundamentals to the aesthetic field, but also on giving the school community an environment that inspires and motivates. “The floral motifs, combined with a line drawing finish, provide delicacy and symbolize diversity, growth and vitality. The predominant blue color, on the other hand, reinforces values such as peace, trust and harmony, essential elements on Peace Day,” argued Carolina Adán.
The project has been made up of several phases, where the students have participated from the beginning with the on-site visualization of the place, the choice of color and the elaboration of sketches and the mural to develop all the competences and skills acquiring plastic and artistic language through different techniques and materials in the field of drawing. “It has been very positive and enriching for our students to see how art has the capacity to change and humanize spaces. Sad, cold and gray walls can become a great ally to overcome difficult times,” the teacher emphasized.
For the president of the ADEMA University School, Diego González, “this initiative is a clear example of how art and education can come together to generate a positive impact on our environment. We want to continue developing projects of this type, since they are part of our purpose of promoting social commitment and the humanization of spaces that directly affect the most vulnerable communities. This type of action shows that education is not only limited to classrooms, but transcends to improve people’s quality of life.”
The president also stressed that, through the ADEMA+ Foundation, the institution reaffirms its humanistic vocation and social responsibility: “Our educational model combines practical and collaborative learning with social sensitivity, instilling in students fundamental values such as responsibility, commitment and the ability to work as a team. Projects such as this reflect the spirit of the ADEMA University School, training professionals who are not only competent, but also deeply aware of their transformative role in society.”
Diego González also wanted to acknowledge the effort and dedication of the teaching team and students: “We are tremendously proud of the commitment shown by our students and teachers, who have worked side by side to make this project a reality. Their talent and effort are the driving force that drives us to continue supporting social impact initiatives that contribute to the well-being of our community.”
