The works of fifteen students from the Bachelor of Fine Arts program at ADEMA have been selected by the European Cultural Centre within the framework of the Venice Biennale 2026, one of the most important international platforms for contemporary art.
ADEMA’s participation will materialize in a collective exhibition at the Palazzo Bembo, one of the international exhibition spaces linked to the Biennale and managed by the European Cultural Centre, located next to the Rialto bridge and facing the Grand Canal.
There, a selection of final degree projects developed by students will be presented, chosen after passing the organization’s curatorial evaluation process. The European Cultural Centre (ECC) is participating in the collateral events of the 2026 Venice Biennale, one of the most important contemporary art events on the international scene, which last year attracted more than one million visitors.
The official opening program will begin on May 7, 2026 with the launch of the PS2026 inaugural events in the Jardins de la Marinaressa, with the presence of the European Cultural Centre team, institutional guests and media.
The pre-opening day for press and professionals will take place on May 8th in the various exhibition spaces of ECC.
The exhibition will officially open to the public on May 9th, and on that same day a special meeting will be held for guests linked to the exhibition program.
ADEMA’s presence in this context represents international recognition of the quality of the training, research, and artistic innovation fostered by the Bachelor of Fine Arts program. It also strengthens the international reach of the work developed by students in an academic environment focused on contemporary creation and direct engagement with international art circuits. ADEMA’s proposal is directed by Amparo Sard and her teaching team, marking a significant step for the institution and for Mallorca’s international profile in the field of contemporary art. The overall curatorial theme will explore the relationships between individuals, communities, and their environments, highlighting how personal narratives influence and shape our collective human experience. Participating student artists can also apply for the ECC Awards, which offer opportunities for international recognition.
