Dr. Claudia Tittel, a leading curator and researcher in the international art scene, visited ADEMA Fine Arts to learn about the work developed by fourth-year students, with a view to its possible inclusion in future curatorial projects.
The visit was part of a professional meeting focused on analyzing the final projects of a graduating class that is completing its studies with a strong international presence. During her stay at ADEMA, Claudia Tittel met directly with the students and was able to see firsthand proposals that stand out for their conceptual maturity, methodological rigor, and connection to the languages of contemporary art.
Claudia Tittel is linked to one of the most important cultural programs on the 2025 European calendar. She is the artistic director of one of the exhibition projects included in the official program of Chemnitz 2025, European Capital of Culture in Germany, through the Kunstfestival Begehungen 2025. Her career lies in the field of contemporary curating, artistic research, and the development of major international cultural programs, which gives strategic value to her interest in the projects of ADEMA students.
The main objective of the visit was to learn in depth about the creative processes, lines of research and artistic discourses that the students are developing, with the aim of identifying proposals with the potential to be part of future curatorial projects promoted by Tittel.
In this context, as explained by the director of the Bachelor of Fine Arts program at ADEMA, Amparo Sard, the visit represents a direct opportunity for professional visibility for the students and external recognition of the level achieved in the final phase of their studies.
During the tour, the curator was able to analyze works that address contemporary issues from diverse perspectives, using mediums ranging from installation, video, sculpture, painting, and photography to hybrid approaches that incorporate social research, critical thinking, and formal experimentation. The proposals presented reflect a working methodology aligned with the standards of the international art world.
The fourth-year students of the Bachelor of Fine Arts program at ADEMA are reaching this final stage of their studies with a remarkable international track record. Over the past few years, they have participated in exhibitions and artistic projects in diverse national and international contexts, including cities such as Madrid, London, and Poland. This experience has strengthened their understanding of real-world professional environments and their ability to engage with diverse audiences. Adding to this impressive trajectory is a new and significant milestone: their upcoming participation in the Venice Biennale this May, one of the most important events on the international art calendar.
The director of the Fine Arts Degree program at ADEMA, artist Amparo Sard, emphasized the importance of these kinds of encounters for student development. “The interest of a curator of Claudia Tittel’s caliber provides external validation of the academic and creative work carried out in the classroom, as well as of the center’s educational model, which is based on research, projects, and direct contact with key figures in the contemporary art world,” Sard stated.
For her part, Claudia Tittel positively assessed the level of the work she had seen, highlighting the solidity of the artistic research processes and the students’ ability to articulate contemporary discourses with a clear international projection, key aspects in the context of her future curatorial projects focused on promoting emerging artists.
