>> The mayor of Inca, Virgilio Moreno, and the president of ADEMA, Diego González, have signed different agreements to convert the Museu del Calçat i de la Indústria into a key space for academic training practices and research activity in Higher Education
ADEMA and the City Council of Inca have signed various strategic agreements so that the Museu del Calçat i de la Indústria becomes a key space in the framework of teaching and applied research in the area of Fine Arts and Design.
According to ADEMA President Diego González, “thanks to this collaboration, ADEMA students will be able to carry out curricular and extracurricular activities at the Museum, developing technical and transversal skills; and foster the generation of knowledge, exchange and transfer between them.”
These agreements range from the implementation of new Higher Education training programs to research, informative activities and knowledge transfer initiatives in the areas of Fine Arts and Design with a view to promoting project-based learning and joint collaboration between institutions, fostering academic training and research.
ADEMA will exchange and intertwine educational programmes with academic and scientific projects at the Museum. “These initiatives not only enrich the training of our students, but also generate a positive impact on the society of Inca and the whole of Mallorca, both in the areas of culture and art as well as heritage conservation,” argued Diego González.
Both institutions are also committed to promoting values such as sustainability, creativity and entrepreneurship, offering students tools and experiences that prepare them to successfully face the challenges of the labour market. They also consider promoting a positive impact on the local community, connecting academic training with artistic, cultural and heritage conservation and sustainability initiatives that benefit both Inca and Mallorca.
In this regard, ADEMA President Diego González has highlighted the importance of this new collaboration with Inca, which “not only strengthens the technical and transversal skills of future students, but also enriches their creative and entrepreneurial capacity and enhances the connection between university and society.”
For his part, the Mayor of Inca, Virgilio Moreno, said that “the Museum is a unique educational resource that reinforces our commitment to quality education and the promotion of our cultural heritage in our city.” In this regard, he thanked ADEMA for its commitment to Inca to lead an innovative training model that benefits all young people in Mallorca. “We are very satisfied and proud of this alliance that makes us key partners in a transformative project with a DNA of academic and research excellence,” Moreno stressed.
The experience in a unique cultural environment such as the museum not only enhances students’ technical skills, but also stimulates their creativity, innovation and personal skills, essential qualities for their professional development. Students will be able to work in iconic spaces and participate in cultural projects related to the museum, strengthening their understanding of cultural heritage and their ability to innovate within their respective disciplines.
