The Rector of the University of Mallorca (UMAC-ADEMA), Dr. Pere Riutord, attended the formal opening ceremony of the 2026–27 academic year at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), held in Palma. This attendance marks the Rector’s first official institutional academic engagement since his appointment, signaling the start of a new phase of institutional representation and presence for the University.

The event brought together representatives from the university, institutional, and social spheres of the Balearic Islands, serving as a meeting point for the region’s leading academic and public institutions.
The participation of the Rector of the University of Mallorca reflects the institution’s desire to strengthen its presence in the academic life of the Islands, foster closer ties with other university institutions, and advance new avenues of collaboration.
The University of Mallorca thus continues to consolidate its university project and its commitment to the development of higher education, research, and knowledge transfer in the Balearic Islands.
