The ADEMA University School, an affiliated center of the University of the Balearic Islands, has opened the registration period for the personal aptitude tests that are part of the admission process to the university degrees of Dentistry, Human Nutrition and Dietetics and Fine Arts, for the academic year 2026/2027.
These tests are a requirement within the system of access to these degrees and are intended to assess whether future students have the motivation, vocation and basic cognitive skills necessary to successfully acquire the competencies specific to each university degree.
The registration period will be open from February 2nd to 20th, 2026. The aptitude test will be held on March 7th. Provisional results will be published on March 23rd, followed by a review period from March 24th to 26th. The final decision regarding admissions is expected on April 1st.
The academic secretary of the ADEMA University School, Dr. Pilar Tomás, has pointed out that this admission model “allows us to verify that the students who join the university meet a profile appropriate to the academic demands of the studies they will undertake, promoting greater stability, better use of training and greater continuity in their university career.”
As Dr. Pilar Tomás explained, “aptitude tests do not focus solely on prior knowledge, but also allow the identification of key aspects such as reasoning ability, reading comprehension, academic maturity and the candidate’s real motivation for the chosen degree, determining factors for the proper development of university studies.”

She also noted that these tests have been in place for several years and are designed to adapt admissions processes to the specific characteristics of each discipline. “Each degree program has specific requirements and recommended entry profiles. The goal is to support students from the beginning and ensure that admission is based on clear and consistent academic criteria,” she stated.
The final test result will be pass or fail. Passing the personal aptitude test, along with the grades obtained in the PBAU (University Access Assessment) or in previous studies, will determine the order of priority in the allocation of places, in accordance with current regulations.
Implementation methods
The application process includes two options: in-person and online. Those choosing the online option must provide documentary proof that they will be outside of Mallorca on the dates of the exam.
The in-person tests will be carried out at the facilities of the ADEMA University School, located at Gremi Passamaners Street 11, on the Son Rossinyol Campus, in Palma.
Design and development of the tests
The design and development of the admission tests involves experts from various leading academic and professional institutions, as well as members of the ADEMA Board of Trustees and management team. This collaborative effort ensures a rigorous procedure, aligned with the recommended entry profiles and the competencies developed in each degree program.
In this regard, the academic secretary highlighted that “the experience accumulated in previous calls demonstrates a high level of acceptance by students and a progressive normalization of this type of process, which is perceived as an academic guidance tool and not as a barrier.”
He also stressed that aptitude tests “are a common practice in university systems in countries such as Finland, the United Kingdom or the United States, and are also applied at the national level both in private universities and in certain degrees at public centers.”

People with disabilities or specific needs may request the organizing committee to make the necessary adjustments to take the tests in conditions appropriate to their situation, guaranteeing equal opportunities in access to university studies.
