>> At the Assembly of Batles and Batlesses, ADEMA presents this decentralization proposal that will bring emerging university art closer to the towns of Mallorca.
The president of ADEMA, Diego González, participated today in the Assembly of Batles and Batlesses to invite the municipalities of Mallorca to actively collaborate in the University Art Biennial – Art Week, an international event that will transform Mallorca into the epicenter of contemporary university art next June, and the new campuses of Inca and Coll.
One of the highlights of the ADEMA president’s speech focused on the presentation of the University Art Biennial – Art Week 2025, which will be held from June 2 to 6 and will bring together more than 300 artists, including students and faculty researchers, from twenty internationally renowned universities in Mallorca. This major group exhibition, curated by Ian Monroe (director of Chelsea College of Art – University of the Arts London), will run throughout the summer and will be held in various exhibition spaces in Palma, Inca, and the Barceló Foundation.
In this context, ADEMA hopes that Mallorca’s town councils can also become exhibition venues, allowing the exhibitions to travel through the different towns throughout the rest of the year. This decentralization would bring emerging university art closer to Mallorca’s towns, generate new links between educational institutions and local communities, and position each council as an active part of an international project of this nature.
“We want Mallorca’s municipalities to also be protagonists of this international event that puts emerging artists at the center of attention. We are convinced that this project can contribute to revitalizing the region, strengthening the artistic and cultural offerings, and generating new opportunities for citizen participation,” González emphasized.
Diego González also outlined the strategic expansion plans for the new Coll and Inca campuses, which will join the existing campuses at the Son Rossinyol Business Center and the online campus. He emphasized the institution’s commitment to quality teaching, research, and internationalization, promoting territorial cohesion, sustainability, and regional integration, bringing new official degrees to the island’s municipalities.
The proposal presented has the support of various public and private entities from the Islands’ socioeconomic fabric and aims to consolidate a collaborative network with local councils to launch new educational spaces, artistic activities, and social projects.
ADEMA currently offers five official university degrees—Dentistry, Fine Arts (in Spanish and English), and Human Nutrition and Dietetics—in addition to the Official Master’s Degree in Digital Dentistry, and a range of Vocational Training courses (in-person and online), with intermediate and advanced degrees in key areas such as health, sports, and fashion and footwear design, the latter two new for next year.
It also incorporates a new proposal for the 2025/26 academic year: the implementation of a Bachelor’s Degree in Design with different specialties within the framework of Higher Artistic Education, and four specialized master’s degrees in Art and Design.
This growth of ADEMA translates into a network of campuses that has opted to avoid the consumption of new land, renovating and reusing buildings.
- Palma Campus (Son Rossinyol): The main campus, equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories, clinical simulation classrooms, spaces adapted to new technologies, and an Integrated Clinic. The Bachelor’s Degree in Dentistry and the Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts are located here.
- Inca Campus: Specialized in Art and Design Studies. It offers the new Bachelor’s Degree in Design with specialties such as fashion, interiors, graphics, and product design, as well as master’s degrees in Interior Design, Video Game Design, Creative Writing, and Art and Social Co-design. It also houses the Mallorca University Research Center for Fine Arts and Design, ES CRUM, in collaboration with international universities.
- Coll d’en Rabassa Campus: The space, equipped with modern facilities, laboratories, virtual simulation rooms, and cutting-edge AI technology, is located in module C of the Endesa complex in Palma. It will teach Dentistry and Human Nutrition and Dietetics, and will also house the University Research Center for Medical Sciences of Mallorca, promoting R&D&I.
- Online Campus: It also features an advanced platform that allows you to study from anywhere, with teacher support, continuous assessment, and greater flexibility without sacrificing academic excellence.
